Customer Service Centre gets a facelift
On 16th March 2022, it will be exactly two (02) years since Zambia recorded its first COVID-19 positive case. Four (04) waves later, the devastating pandemic is still with and is expected to be around for the foreseeable future.
As more of our Officers and Customers become vaccinated, there is a semblance of normalcy in the Department’s operations, with more Staff and Customers feeling less apprehensive about rendering and receiving immigration services in person, respectively. Notwithstanding the relatively positive outlook created by the dwindling number of COVID-19 cases, hospital admissions and the positivity rate, the Department’s Staff and Customers, alike, want to feel protected from potential infection from the COVID-19 and future pandemics.
It is precisely for this reason that the Department is renovating its Customer Service Centre at Immigration Headquarters. The Customer Service Centre has been given priority for a facelift owing to the fact that it receives the highest volume of traffic.
The new-look Customer Service Centre will have increased ventilation, air quality, physical separation, and hygiene. It will also have comfortable and spacious outdoor waiting areas for our Customers and physical barriers (service windows) for Employees and Customers.
Our ultimate aim is to make the Customer Service Centre safe for both our staff and customers in the new normal so that the former can focus on productivity, while the latter can enjoy an enhanced customer experience.
